International Women’s Day is a celebration of the women who have made contributions to society in a variety of ways. This year, we asked five accomplished women in the voice AI industry to talk about their experiences, frustrations, and hopes for a future centered around this year’s theme, “Equal for Each.”

Dr, Joan Palmiter Bajorek, Keri Roberts, Nithya Thadani, Claire Mitchell, and Heidi Culbertson added their voices to a discussion about women’s experiences and contributions to the voice-first world.

While every person’s experiences are different, we heard some common themes from these women including the importance of mentorship, support groups, and a core belief that every idea is worth expressing and being heard.

We also found that these women saw voice user interfaces as a way to democratize society and provide a level playing field for a diverse population.
